The Vintage has won their seventh Rosella Shield Pennant, going through the season undefeated.
In their final round at Muswellbrook today, The Vintage already had the flag in the bag but knuckled down to ensure a win in the final round would cap off their exceptional season.
A 4-2 win over Hunter Valley wrapped up the pennant, while in the fight for runners up, Kurri and Scone battled it out, but last year’s winners defeated the horsies through their higher number of matches won, 24-19.
Kurri posted a strong 5.5 – .5 win over Branxton today, while Scone grabbed the victory over Singleton 3.5-2.5.
It was a very impressive performance by the 2026 Vintage women, who led the overall team statistics in both the scratch and handicap matches won categories.
The lower Hunter team won all their scratch matches while in the handicap division, they won 16 out of a possible 24 matches.
Special mention to Vintage number 1 and 2 players, Liz White and Mel Reid who won 5/5 matches, and Helen Parker-Topp in the handicap section, who also won 5/5 matches.
Special thanks to all the clubs for hosting and the many volunteers who make the Pennants possible.
