An update from the NSW Junior Championships (under 18 years) played over the past 3 days at Mt Broughton Golf Club for both Boys and Girls.
Fantastic performance from all HRDGA juniors who played in this event. I hope they all enjoyed the courses and the company of other players.
BOYS
The JNJG State Age Championships were held over the first 36 holes with Harry Atkinson (kurri) winning the under 14 State Age Championship, scores of 72, 71 – 1 under par.
This was also good enough to win the NSW Junior Champion of Champions event held in conjunction, Harry is the Kurri Club Junior Champion.
The top 40 juniors qualified to play the final 36 holes for the NSW Junior Championship. Harry Atkinson (Kurri) and Bopwen small (Maitland) made the cut with Lachlan McDonald (The Vintage) and marley poa (Aberdeen) unfortunately missing out.
The NSW Junior was reduced to 54 holes after play was suspended (at 4:19), and officially cancelled (at 5.07) as storms rolled through the Southern Highlands and hit Mt Broughton.
Hunter River juniors Final Scores – Harry Atkinson (Kurri) 72 71 72, Bowen Small (Maitland) 74 80 80.
GIRLS
The top 20 scores over 36 holes qualified for the final 36 holes with Jasmine Vesper (Singleton) making the cut.
Hunter River Juniors – Jasmine Vesper (Singleton) 81 78 74.
JNJG State Age 12 year and under Championship was held over 36 holes at Moss Vale Golf Club
Three Players from HRDGA Clubs participated in this event.
Boys 12 – Taj Vesper (Singleton) finished 11th
Boys 11 – Hugh Dilley (Branxton) finished 15th
Boys 10 – Harry Preece (The Vintage) finished 3rd
