CCWGA TOO STRONG FOR THE LOCALS

Boasting two Australian representative players, the Central Coast Women’s Golf team were too solid for the locals, winning the annual event 9.5 to 2.5 at Singleton Golf Course.

The number one match saw national representative and former Ladies European Tour player Louise Mullard take on The Vintage’s Jane Holmes. It was a tough match with Holmes going down 4/3. The second match, Yvonne Boardman v Singleton’s Jodie Dunn was also a 4/3 win to the visitors and the same result in number three match, former Australian player Kim Burke versus Kurri’s Renee Bean-Wyper. The combined handicap of the first four CCWGA Ladies was 8.8.

On the plus side for the local team was Representative debutant from the Vintage, Mel Reid winning her match 4/2 and Kurri’s Maree Breen also recording an impressive 3/2 win, while in match 12, Singleton’s Jenny Delaney squared her match.

It was the sixth playing of the interdistrict event at Singleton and the HRDGA Ladies will be keen for revenge in 2025 when the event is hosted by Central Coast.

The HRDGA team in playing order was Jane Holmes (The Vintage), Jodie Dunn (Singleton), Renee Bean-Wyper (Kurri), Lyn Banks (Scone), Sue Wilks (Muswellbrook), Kristine McMahon (The Vintage), Maree Breen (Kurri), Jen Jones (The Vintage), Melissa Reid (The Vintage), June Jukes (Scone), Leah Jamieson (Scone), Jenny Delaney (Singleton).
