Muswellbrook’s Sue Wilks has taken out the 2023 HRDGA Sandgreens Championships _ her second major district title for the year.
After winning the District Foursomes with Singleton’s Jodie Dunn in August, Wilks was able to hold off Scone duo Julie Leckie and Lyn Banks to win by one shot with a final score of 86.
In the nett event, Jane Hegarty’s 71 was just enough to defeat her Merriwa club mate Gay Stanton, who posted a 73.
The event is held in conjunction with the famous Priscilla Queen of the Desert event, with Denman’s Di Thorley taking out the Division 1 prize. In Division 2, Judy Carmody won the scratch with 96 while Hunter Valley’s Christine Tancred won nett with 76. In Division 3, Aberdeen’s Dawn Jamieson won yet another title to go with her HRDGA Divsion 3 District Championship with a stroke score of 107.
